The web episode win as well as being screened for the first time at a film fest is just so amazingly magical that I can't explain it in words. This coming from an established organization who's been around for 16 annual events, so I appreciate and thank the Indie Gathering Film Festival and particularly Kristina for showcasing our hard work on this project," Mr. Nguyen said. ### |

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DAY ZERO TAKES HOME OFFICIAL FINALIST AWARD IN TELEVISION PILOTS CATEGORY AT LAS VEGAS FILM FESTIVALLas Vegas, NV — The Las Vegas Film Festival announced its 2012 festival winners, recognizing Producer/Director Cal Nguyen's post-apocalyptic "Day Zero" pilot episode entry, "Lethal". Mr. Nguyen graciously accepted this honor on behalf of the cast and crew of Day Zero the web TV series during presentations held July 22, 2012 at the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. He was joined by Associate Producer/Assistant Director Tim Sabuco and FX makeup artist Tony Fisher. There was a brief moment of remembrance to Cal Nguyen's recent passing of his father, Toan Le, of whom he will dedicate Episode 6, "Dementia" to him. "I just wanted to thank you all for inviting us here and recognizing our show and this pilot. My dad passed away last month and I think he would've been really proud of my accomplishment here, and that of my cast and crew's hard work on the show. Thank you all," Mr. Nguyen said.The trio from the crew drove in from Utah in order to attend the awards festival ceremony and after party. ### |
